It definitely isn't shaped like one in the picture above. But the dimensions say it should be.
ok pulling up https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:USB_icon.svg it definitely looks equilateral there, I guess the CAD diagram version is just weird for some reason?

seems like it was drawn freehand, not from the dimensions?
notice how the square (1L) isn't actually 3x as wide as the lines (0.33L)
and the distance between the 5.00 and 5.17 lines looks more like 0.3 than 0.17
the only thing about USB that's consistently on-spec from all vendors lolololol
