which of the four different dropdown menus on this screen contains the "User Logs"?
special bonus points for managing to use three different styles of dropdown menu, too.
the thing with exposed, visual menu options is that they respond to F3, too. if you type in "logs" in the search window on wikipedia, you get... nothing, because the logs option is buried under a dropdown, and the browser isn't going to show you things that aren't visible.
but on the old style of vector, oh, look, it's just part of the sidebar, always visible. even if you aren't necessarily sure where it is on the page, you can type "logs" and navigate that way.
minimalism is a cancer on design. i don't use that term lightly, but it's true. it's spread and infected so much, it consumes good design just because "it's smaller and flatter", and it sucks up a ton of time and energy from people having to try and navigate around it.
"you know you can re-sidebarize those menus..."
i love having to take multiple steps to accomplish what only took one before. efficiency is when the amount of work to produce one action goes up, right?
