I've always had an affinity for alternative operating systems. I used to run OS/2 Warp 4 back in the day. True, my needs didn't extend much beyond surfing the Old Web and playing MUDs, but it felt great breaking out of the M$ prison (and yes, I'm gonna start using M$ unironically again, fuck your Copilots).

Haiku OS has that same vibe. It's so cute! I love it~


I will add a quick blurb that I feel it's worthwhile to install some VM software like VirtualBox to install a few oddball operating systems for fun, and to just see how different groups tried to tackle common problems. For me, it's fascinating who they believed the end user to even be and what those users might value in an operating system.
