Something I see a whole bunch is people complaining that posting links on other social sites gets you suppresses. I imagine there's some small truth to that, but also consider that maybe people just don't want to leave the site they are on.

Even here, with no algorithm, posting about twitch streams does much worse than a clip which does worse than art which does worse than specific types of art. And that's OK! I'm not here to impress anyone or do numbers.

Sometimes it's just preference. And asking people to leave the site they CHOSE TO BE ON is always going to be a tough ask.

I don't encourage anyone to worry about numbers, but if you're going to be it's helpful to understand that self promo will never be easy, whether there's a recommendation algorithm or no.
