i was tempted to ignore the defunctland video on "who wrote the disney channel theme?" thing is, it got linked alongside hbomberguy's "oof" video, also deep diving into the background of a popular sound, and frankly i'm easily nerd sniped by the minutiae of history
but both of the videos do a little more than that—the hbomberguy video goes head first into the uncertain world of a fabulist, and i thought i'd be seeing more of the same from defunctland, but instead it ends up asking "what does it mean to be remembered?"
it's worth a watch, and i must confess i watched it at 2x speed, but there's always something intriguing about a good detective story
in the end, i'm reminded of something my music teacher used to say:
don't worry about the big notes, worry about the little ones.
the big notes look after themselves
