tef

bad poster & mediocre photographer

  • they/them

is that people seem to be posting more about the stuff that makes them happy, over stuff that'll land them a job

sure enough there'll be room for the latter, but it's nice to have a cozy space to escape from the ever crushing horrors of modern life

edit: also the lack of comment favs seems to discourage reply-guys, that, or they're all on the fediverse. womp womp

i do miss being able to fav a reply to mean "nice", but now i just reply "nice". it's pretty good actually

in reply to @tef's post:

Yeah, it feels frivolous (non-derogatory) and fun in the way early(-ish) Twitter did. In addition to comments not having likes being helpful to the community health, I think not exposing posts' like-count as a public metric is going to be a long-term good for the service.

yep

one of the things that i worry about is "likes on comments" turning into drive by debates

sure enough i like it when someone goes "nice" on a reply of mine, but i don't really care about the audience reaction
