apropos of nothing, william mortenson's on the negative is a surprisingly funny book about the most boring parts of photography

he talks about creative urges, he talks about the history of artistic style, and he shuttles through the technicalities with a minimum of fuss—but that's not why i keep laughing.

he has a dry wit and i feel absolutely called out several times over.
