I once had an acquaintance make a comment about how they were impressed I managed to save up for the art supplies I had. I was like yes... I budgeted very well... that's definitely what happened...
Fun and cool trick, make your art a buisness. Make yourself into an LLC or something so you can literally write all your supplies off. Still working out how I will do that myself but it will certainly help because I often need to order stuff online which is ineligible for certain in-store discounts.
I'm pretty much relegated to only selling art for petty cash so that social security disability doesn't throw me under a steamroller
