A critter on the internet

Avatar by Sol

A techie critter and casual streamer in their mid-twenties with interests in webhosting. Known for running web servers on things that shouldn't run web servers, turning others into similar looking blue raccoons, and being a little bit bigger than average.

I post non-lewd kink, but make best efforts to tag it 18+. This might not always happen, however (especially if it's only adjacent to it.) Please only follow if you are 18+.

Additionally, please put something in your profile before following me. I probably won’t block over it or anything, but I get a little anxious when I’m followed by an empty account.

apparently they figured out a way to play videos off of a CD-ROM, and it's going to change gaming forever. finally, the dream of an interactive movie will be achieved

ETPC
@ETPC

a bunch of people left Silicon Graphics and started a company called 3D/fx. wonder what they're up to.

On2 and Xiph released an alpha for Theora. I'm excited to try it out!

@DecayWTF

hey so has anyone heard of this new operating system for the PDP-11 out of Bell Labs? It's called Unix I guess?

ireneista
@ireneista

we're really excited about this new practice of putting logs under things to make them "roll". the possibilities are endless!

it could turn out to be the best thing since fire

Kassil
@Kassil

Hey! Everyone! If we smash up some rocks and charcoal, we can make shapes on walls! And if we do it right, with fire, it makes them dance on the wall! Come and see! I think we're gonna call it art.

Xylaria
@Xylaria

Holy shit y'all, I figured out you can put clay in a big cylinder, and force air through holes in the bottom with fans, and it gets really fuckin' hot if you fire charcoal in it. I think I can melt metal with this! Can we do anything else with it?

Hey, did you all know about this whole "hit rock with other rock to make sharp rock" thing that's been making the rounds? I hear some have even started using wood, bone, and horn to make nicer sharp rocks that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are practical!

sits down on log Welcome to this week's talk-log or tlog as it's getting known in certain circles. Today we're covering something hip and cool that everyone is gonna want a piece of. Check out how I've leaned these tree branches and leaves against this rock face. It creates a small hole that like magic doesn't get rained on! And it stays warmer in the night wind. Crazy dudes, am I right? Folks are starting to call this "shelter" and I'm telling you it's gonna be huge. Get in on it right away. That's all for this week, remember to right that notification bone-chime if you want updates on all the latest tech tlogs.

i don't know but this "shelter" thing sounds lit af.

tenna
@tenna

you know what else is lit af? that's right, we're talking about the invention that's been called a trailblazer in the "making things warm" department, the ultimate form of energy release - it's this thing called fire, and it's sweeping the nation. only metaphorically, though. it tends to do this thing called "burning" to anything it touches, which basically destroys it, so don't use it on anything you like!
