sell ad placement but then just don't show the ads to users. nobody checks, it's fine
users have the option to display non-intrusive ads while they’re browsing cohost, and doing so frees eggbug from having to see them for a short period of time for each page they load with an ad
Users have a “minutes saved eggbug from ads” counter on their profile
Considering how much BS Facebook and Google (cough Jedi Blue cough) this actually is not the least unethical ad strategy I have seen/heard.
I believe this is how the multi billion dollar online advertising market already operates currently
The only thing that could make this funnier is if Eggbug was in some sort of Clockwork Orange chair, their eyes forced open to the ads.
I initially started drawing a more complete Ludovico Technique but I didn't think it read as well, so I simplified: 
"minutes of suffering endured by eggbug for you, out of love"
