something that i really appreciate about Morrowind is all the colored lighting effects, which after watching a lot of Children of Doom i now realise probably came off as a bit tacky and passe in 2002 but i honestly think does a lot to sell ethereality. when you duck into Punabi and the cave is awash in purples from giant luminous crystals, or even just going downstairs in the Balmora mages' guild and seeing the blue lanterns gradually overtake the orange candlelight from upstairs. it's good!

it also was a good way to add a lot of much needed variety to a game that huge
i will take your word for it; in 2002 i was 7 and the video game i was chiefly concerned with was the Bionicle point-and-click adventure game
