you steel yourself as best you can but every time you go to the local farmer’s market it’s a spiritually harrowing experience. the roosterboy selling eggs you’ve long ago made peace with, but the sheepgirl with a stall full of wheels of mizithra is harder to square. and every time you pass by the shalewoman selling barrels of crude oil, she leers at you with such lasciviousness that you know you can never ask where she’s getting the stuff.
