Welcome to JUNKYARD CRAWLIN, my informal and shorter form series of posts to talk about stuff I find at the junkyard
Some older photos this time, from all the way back in May 2022. Florida junkyards are a haven for older Mercedes, almost to the point Ive become jaded to them. The Treasure Coast even more so, with it's even higher concentration of retirees than other South & Central Florida counties. But I do like a nice red paintjob, especially on a Mercedes, a brand that tends to stick to duller tones. This model specifically is a 1985 Mercedes 190E, equipped with the 2.6L inline six- the very first year for the engine, which Wikipedia tells me had only been unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show that same year.
I also particularly love the stickers- old stickers can really enhance an otherwise boring car, and Mercedes often have a few. This one features a lovely rendition of a service-liveried Mercedes wagon on the inside of the glovebox, showcasing the roadside assistance number.
