Look at that! Its been 23 days since the last one of these! Better part of a month! Thats insane for me. Ive gone to more junkyards than Ive written these posts in that time. Anyway, here we got a sad one.
No big sports car, but just a really nice 1987 Saab 900. This is the older generation I want, and they're annoyingly rare on local listings. This one had only 81,000 miles when it was junked, the original manuals in the glovebox, shit the original (or at least contemporary) first aid kit. So why's this relative gem sitting here, hood open and paint baking in the south Florida sun?
well, it's our old friend Ian. After being bought from Saab Specialist Bob Marble from 128 Ford-Saab-Volvo (what a combo) in Reading, Mass this Saab retired to the sunny and somewhat cheaper shores of Southwestern Florida. Hurricane Ian swept through and put this Saab in enough water to flood the glovebox at least, which pretty much made it a brick, and certainly totaled it in insurance's eyes. It also ruined a lot of what was probably a pretty pristine interior.
Sidenote
I keep finding old Saab 900s at junkyards. They're not on Marketplace beforehand, they just show up junked. STOP JUNKING EM, DAMNIT. Lemme buy one, before it gets crushed! Gah.
