The poet they probably shouldn’t have sent. I watch anime and am sometimes accused of reading books. I'm writing a long gay giant robot story in verse—probably this millennium's best yuri mecha epic poem, through lack of competition.
'Now praise those names on tombs of steel engraved | And toll this rotting country’s countless bells.'
I've been meaning to ask. I know you're in a different country and all, but where do you get your kits? I wouldn't mind doing maybe some intermediate sets, after my beginner plamo back in undergrad, but I have no idea where to get them given that I can't go to the Walmart in my freshman school town lol
I may be incited to try hard if it's required for a Zaku plamo, I love those one eyed bastards
So, from what I’ve learned and experimented with so far, you can order directly from Japan, order within-country, or go somewhere that sells physical kits.
Per-kit prices are noticeably lower when ordering from Japan, but delivery’s a big cost, so this is a good option if you want a crate or a shipping container’s worth of gunpla but probably not for you!
I’ve bought most of my kits from in-country mail-order outfits. Selections of what’s available vary quite a bit, so I’ve not found one consistent supplier, but the ones I’ve used the most are Kikatek and Gundammad. If you want a specific kit, and especially if it’s obscure (probably not true of the Zaku), you might have to pound the internet pavement a bit to find somewhere that has it.
I’ll ask on one or two of the Discords I know whether anyone has recommendations for good gunpla sources in the US that aren’t Amazon.
Further to the previous comment, early birds US time on Discord suggest USAGS (https://www.usagundamstore.com/) and Gundam Planet (https://www.gundamplanet.com/) as reliable online sources.
