The poet they probably shouldn’t have sent. I watch anime and am sometimes accused of reading books. I'm writing a long gay giant robot story in verse—probably this millennium's best yuri mecha epic poem, through lack of competition.

I confess, there are few things I love more than English in anime/manga, especially from the era before spell checks. You really get the sense of people sounding out English words and phrases they've heard but maybe never read. My favorite by far, after a cliffhanger in a manga, "TO BE CONTINUE DO"

"I've heard nothing from them", in particular, comes off like a Google Translate before Google Translate. Context to this scene is the whereabouts of a lost space crew, and they were probably looking for something like "Currently: No contact".
