The poet they probably shouldn’t have sent. I watch anime and am sometimes accused of reading books. I'm writing a long gay giant robot story in verse—probably this millennium's best yuri mecha epic poem, through lack of competition.


'Now praise those names on tombs of steel engraved | And toll this rotting country’s countless bells.'


I've spent the last few days ironing out some things that dissatisfied me about Book I of Cosmic Warlord Kin-Bright. The plot hasn't changed, but I removed a few infelicities, tightened the metre in a few places, and messed around with the syntax and wording to improve cruces that had defeated me when I wrote Book I and had less practice under my belt.

I wouldn't say existing readers should make a point of of revisiting it, unless they're metrical sickos, but I hope this will make the start of the poem smoother for any new readers!
