This made me go and look up whether the dates work out for design work in Cobra (not the Turtle, but in general) being influenced by his stuff in Blade Runner… but if I followed the numbers right, the answer appears to be that, by a span of mere months, people working in Japan probably couldn't have seen that film in time for it to feed into production work running up to Cobra.
Huh! I wonder if anyone on staff has familiar with his elsewhere (a prior exhibition, maybe?) or if this was just convergent mechanical evolution.
I think he'd worked on some kind of Star Trek film in the 1970s, at least, though in exactly what capacity I don't know.
