The poet they probably shouldn’t have sent. I watch anime and am sometimes accused of reading books. I'm writing a long gay giant robot story in verse—probably this millennium's best yuri mecha epic poem, through lack of competition.

'Now praise those names on tombs of steel engraved | And toll this rotting country’s countless bells.'

Hello! Starting off a fresh year with a fresh Build Club. I hope everyone made it through the holidays. Huge thanks to Care for the wonderful Flaggbug. RIP to Howard Mason.

As previously announced, the theme for this round will be:

Rival mechs!

Break out the red Zaku, a Flag Fighter, or the Vidar and get ready to do something extremely wicked.

As always, rules are as follows:

  • Any grade and any scale is welcome.
  • You're encouraged to try something new! Part of the idea is to challenge yourself to try new techniques or go more in-depth than you're used to.
  • Non-Gundam kits are allowed!
  • Anyone is welcome to participate! Yes that includes you!
  • **new!** Rules are for bending!

Edit for clarification: just the one suit is sufficient, you do not need to build the pair of rivals

Share your posts with the tag cohost build club so everyone can see it!

Support your local shops if you can!
I cannot speak highly enough of International Model Toys in Seattle for those of you who are out in this area. Drop recommendations for shops near you in the comments!

We'll be running January 1 to February 29. I strongly encourage sharing WIP pics and any thoughts/journaling you do along the way.

At the beginning of March I'll post a survey and gather whatever data I can from y'all who participate. People seemed to like the one month break in between themes so I'm gonna keep it up and start round 3 in April!
