prediction: hating jack black is going to go fully mainstream after the minecraft movie. he’s already got the autism speaks support and blackface and that one thing where he broke up tenacious d over a trump assassination joke under his belt. after the minecraft movie comes out people will completely be dissing him for his performance and that’s going to open the floodgates to it becoming normal to hate on him

This is your weekly reminder to get a library card.

"But I don't go to the library, I barely go outside--"

Listen to me. Listen. There are so many online services for people with library cards, even if you literally never leave the house. Hoopla for audiobooks, ebooks, comics, movies, TV shows, and music. Libby for ebooks and audiobooks. Kanopy for movies. And so much more. I cannot stress this enough, a library card is not just for physically checking out stuff from the library and then physically bringing it back. If you can't or won't leave the house for any reason, a library card opens up an entire new world of entertainment (and all of it is free!!).

Fuck Netflix, get a library card.

used to buy audiobooks. they were expensive! now I use Libby with my library card and it means I can listen to more stuff and also try a wider range of books, since I don’t have to commit to a purchase to listen to one! I very rarely visit the library itself but this alone made getting a card worth it :eggbug:

also, libraries aren't just about books! libraries of things are very popular, classes, author talks, a quiet space to work, resources for research to job searching, discounted museum admission- if the first thing you think of when you think of the library is books, you should check out your local library. you might not even have to go in to get a card.
