the performance boost in games is so underwhelming for the amount of money and power that thing needs. like holy fuck. hoping that intel really gets its shit together with ARC and amd starts taking GPU dev seriously as well. i feel just fine with my 3080 ti

I think the thing that surprises me most about the 4090 is that Nvidia appears to be using the card as a loss leader for badly-manufactured power connectors

I find it wild it covers over every single other slot. It demands to be the only thing plugged into the mobo, and requires a brace to avoid sagging. Which, thinking about it, I guess is Nvidia's revenge for people not accepting SLI.

aren't they cannibalizing Quadro sales this way? ostensibly the VFX pros and ML devs ought to be using the pro-grade cards, so it's weird that NVidia are leading with a card nobody but pros will need. Then again, they are leading with an extremely expensive card during a recession because they assumed 2020-esque demand is gonna remain forever.
