Rolling in Sonic 3 in Sonic Origins still feels fucked, but it feels fucked in a different way where instead of gaining speed overly quickly the deceleration along uneven surfaces feels almost floaty. Marble Garden intro is still thus not 1:1 with the original console game but it's at least not as badly broken with Sonic flinging himself well past the entire first section of the stage.
Launch Base 2 has a section with 3 red springs just below the water and a ledge that was terribly fucked and is still a little fucked but much less so (you can still wind up hitting the spring in a way that causes you to stick to the same slope you just rolled from, but it's harder to do than it was, at least). After beating the cannon-launching boss, the clock does not stop, so you don't detransition from super/hyper if you already were. Running out of rings at the boss is possible.
Time bonuses use the same tables as 1, 2, and CD where you get 50K for under 30s, 10K under 45s, 5K under 1m, etc. rather than the original where you could get 50K for under 1m, etc. I presume the secret bonus for finishing a stage at 9:59, a whopping 100K points, is not available but I am not waiting around a level long enough to find out. The cool bonus from Mania still hasn't been removed, so you can get an extra 10K per level if you don't take a hit.
Time attack times haven't been cleared out despite the updates. Its fun to see names I recognize close to mine in the ranking like joeybaby69, argick, and flyingfox.
