The manager, during a public schmoozing event, talked about wanting young players who were willing to put in long shifts and about how he liked the days when men were men and the sport was tough and physical
Anyway I'm not surprised they went for Man Utd's rookie goalkeeper, Nathan Bishop, whose most recent claim to fame is a tackle in a friendly a couple weeks ago that took out Wrexham's star striker, Paul Mullin. This was a defensive play so nasty that even now you don't see people making "WHAT'S THE GOALIE DAUIN TOM" edits with it. Paul Mullin received a punctured lung from the challenge and is currently staying at Rob McIlhenny's house in LA as he recovers, as good a place as any, even if Ryan Reynold's place has been recently vacated (cf #heisonlycarbonnow)
This did answer a question I had when I saw Man U in Las Vegas without Bishop, about what his fate was after that play and if he'd get another chance to represent the team. Seems no.
