I gotta be honest, as the new football game season comes up, I don't see any reason to get FIFA EA SPORTS FC 2024. It's going to have fewer modes than the previous game because it won't have the mens or womens world cups. It's going to probably still play about the same, which is fine but in the fine details still not as good as eFootball, especially in defense, and while I've been more tolerant of EA anticheat than I probably should be, I'm not willing to extend that generosity infinitely. I would like the option to play my games on Linux, especially as Windows 10 EOL looms near, on a computer without a 2.0 TPM.
I'm sure it will be possible to get the game at . massive discount, similar to what I did having bought FIFA 22 when I got 23, but eFootball is still on the pitch the better simulator (I know! I'm surprised too, but it really does still look and feel more like real soccer, even if it's marred by payola mechanics) and updates every year for free and doesn't require that I install a bespoke rootkit on my machine to ensure I'm not cheating.
