So if by username you mean like the @-handle, as in @the-doomed-posts-of-muteKi it's something that I've been doing ever since I joined masto where my handles are named as if to suggest my posts are getting increasingly worse / more cursed (whether this is true is left as an exercise to the reader) like @the_damn_muteKi on twitter or @even-more-damned-muteKi on masto. As for the 'muteKi' handle it's a long story that works out to approximately pepe silvia always sunny sequence kind of playing around with language and is neither terribly interesting nor particularly comprehensible. Ultimately I like that in many fonts (such as cohost's default) all the letters except K have some round elements, and the capital K enhances that distinction, plus it connects a little bit to my real name. As for the connection to the Japanese term that roughly translates to "invincible", I dunno, it was 20 years ago, 2003, when I first started posting regularly, and I was one of those dumb teenagers.
(Note: no, while I haven't been particularly secretive about my identity, my real name is not Kevin; I am absolutely not Kevin de Bruyne high on my own ego. That my handle roughly coincides with the Arsenal undefeated premier league season is also a coincidence; I am also not Thierry Henri high on my own ego.)
As to the current display name, Tsundereland AFC? Well, I wanted something that matched my commitment for both footballposting and shitposting, and it's a terrible pun off the black cats, Sunderland AFC, one of the older football teams in England that still exists. That's what you get here, bad puns and football.
I considered a few other even worse names in that sort of theme like 'Eric 10" Hog', 'Brighton and Hove & Knuckles', 'MtK Dons', and 'More Cum FC' but they were either overly crude or even more incomprehensible than what I went with.
