An X-Tremely Sonic Christmas Blast is such a weird special, perhaps most made manifest through Princess Not-Appearing-In-This-Special, and further reinforced by the climactic plot moment being a set of three trials Sonic has to accomplish to gain super speed, despite only actually doing two. And then the scene transitions are utterly bizarre.
Was gifted this one on DVD many years ago, and I tell y'all what, it's no Christmas Comes to Pac-Land, that's for sure.
To be clear this isn't the first time I've watched it. It's just that every time I do it feels increasingly bizarre.
