when I was in the fifth grade at a christian school there was an ideological schism between two halves of the grade. nothing to do with the religion we were being taught, the schism was between kids who believed that Skinks were the most dangerous venomous creatures on earth, they were rapidly invading the whole ecosystem, and if you saw one ever you were as good as dead... and kids who didn't believe that Skinks existed and thought they were mythological creatures
skinks are real and they are harmless. none of the adults... thought to tell us this...
