you joke but there's definitely been an increase in the volume for the kinds of shitheads who believe that bias-free translation is possible but no company is willing to do it because they're idiots with bad agendas lately, and just based on the timing I absolutely believe some of this fervor is being seeded by crunchyroll themselves to make dropping as many humans from the process as palatable to that part of the audience as possible
(there have been rumors that disney is also paying chuds to loudly complain about their shows, which is probably part of the reason that chud responses to disney seem so inane and forced. certainly disney has an obvious financial interest in convincing the people who know they're on the right side of history to consume their movies for justice. I presume that all of this stuff is way more common than people make it out to be, because it's not that easy to trace and there's circumstantial evidence to suggest it works well for the big guys at least)
