disney needs more diverse revenue streams and live vfx via unreal is becoming more and more essential to both their film/tv production and the parks. epic is feeling the squeeze on engine licensing revenue and AAA contraction will hurt it big time.

they merge and relist on the NYSE, tencent gets paid back in shares of the new company, everyone is happy. (tencent is feeling sheepish about their investment portfolio in games rn as well which means there's potential for them to be interested)

The only thing holding this back would be Tim Epic giving up absolute control of Epic and I do not see him ever doing that.

Disney buying that 40% Tencent owns though? That's pretty plausible and still pretty fuckin bad for everyone else.
