OK, the whole MLS referee dispute was already pretty ridiculous but it is absolutely mind-blowing that they'd got the scab originally scheduled to work the Inter Miami vs Orlando City Game out there posing for photos in the Inter Miami jersey.
I do have my suspicions that are cases of refs, just due to how bad the working conditions in the league here are, getting paid under the table to help fix matches, mainly because I think if they weren't they'd be struggling to make ends meet and they have questionable standards for some rulings. But just going out here hagning out with guys in the team jersey? So much for even a veneer of impartiality.
They did assign a different ref to the game per a reply further down the chain, but this seems like a prime case study in how badly PRO actually understands the issues facing their employees, if they're this bad at vetting people before matches. It's not like this took people a lot of sleuthing to find.
Obviously, the dispute between PRSA and PRO/MLS still hasn't yet been resolved, per this issue. PRO is probably going to tank any goodwill the league is getting over the Messi acquisition because they can't stop hiring the most clownshoes people to organize these games. I mean I feel like they should at least pretend the sport has more rules than calvinball.
