At the stadium to hopefully watch New Mexico United get the cupset against Real Salt Lake. Game starts in about 45 minutes and is viewable on the open cup website.
I'm expecting a physical match with the ball mostly going box-to-box, and I'm hoping our guys will have just that little bit more energy to pull us ahead. I haven't followed the MLS closely since the apple tv buyout but the videos I watched showed that RLS is big, aggressive, and pretty well-organized.
Saw a guy coming into the stadium wearing a jersey of New Mexico United hero (and ABQ native) Devon Sandoval...from when he played in Real Salt Lake. On that note, due to the occasion, Sandoval is going to be the guy presenting the match ball at the start of the game.
Most interesting potential cupset watch is USL League One side Union Omaha against Sporting Kansas City. They've won these big upsets before and they could do it again, currently tied 0-0 at about 20' in
