While obviously this being the debut weekend for the USL's Super League -- the division 1 US soccer women's league that isn't the NWSL -- is good news, you can definitely tell that one of the reasons that they didn't debut it last year, right after the women's world cup (as would have felt like obvious timing, to me at least) is that there are only 8 teams in it.

While I appreciate a lot about it -- including the fact that it's adopting the same schedule as soccer in most of the rest of the world -- it's also funny that they've been spending so much time on other USL broadcasts hyping up the debut and...there doesn't seem to be a broadcasting deal in place for the games.

I'm hoping they'll at least stream them on youtube, but I don't see a trace of any upcoming games on the USL's channel's live tab.

Also there's something grimly funny about this division-1 women's league having 3 teams that are co-located with USL1 teams -- Charlotte, Lexington, and Spokane. USL1 is men's division-3.

Anyway I hope they come up with some way to let people watch these games because I'm at least curious about the fate of the league long-term.
