There's lots of ways to gain knowledge.
I mean, to really engrave it into your body.
I mean, press it down into the cracks.
I mean, work it into the tender bits under the bones of your spine.
So, there's books, of course. But you've got to read very hard and very quietly before it soaks down into tough, knotted muscle.
If you're greedy, I've heard heart's blood of a dragon lets you understand the language of birds
if you let it slowly coat the inside of your mouth.
Or if you gently suck the skin of a magic salmon off your finger,
I mean, very carefully, very completely,
once it's hot enough to crackle
(Or if you're willing to give up an eye.)
Anyway, I don't want to do any of that.
What I want to do is come and press myself against
your lips
very carefully
and drink.
And If I could raise my head from that and be changed forever
Well,
I think that would be very nice.
