The philosopher may sometimes love the infinite; the poet always loves the finite. For him the great moment is not the creation of light, but the creation of the sun and moon.


I can't see this ending well.

I might be wrong!

I've only felt absolute certainty maybe
five times in my life.
(This isn't one of those times.)

but you and me?

We could rip up roses and daffodils
heaps of
candy-bright tulips
and meet
those
things that writhe in
the
unknown
soil of you.
