B"HIS
(TGIF is cultural appropriation, we were happy the week's over first)
Some weeks it's simply "oh, right, time to light candles"
Some weeks it's clear you need more. Time to light candles, time to drink wine, time to disengage, time to read, time to relax, time to thank G-D.
Thank G-D for the bread I have to break and share with those I love. Thank G-D for the wine I can pour for myself and others. Thank G-D that the work is done for now. Thank G-D for shabbos. The smartest holiday conceived.
Gut shabbos, y'all. Shabbat shalom!
What are y'all cooking for Shabbos this week? I'm making char siu bao. Shabbos char siu bao. Sharb siu... baos... That may sound really bizarre for a Shabbos meal, but I found the local Chinese grocer carries some frozen mock meat char siu pork for temple food cuisine, so I'm using that along with a jar of char siu-style BBQ sauce to not only keep it kosher but also really simplify my prep. The dough's just been mixed and starting it's rise, this won't be done in time for sunset, but these things happen.
