Dorks look down on it but having the NPC mindset rocks, I'm constantly giving helpful advice to strangers and giving them quests. Today I told the bus driver about how the LBJ museum had half off admission and he was like THATS EXACTLY WHAT I WANNA DO TODAY and started planning his trip. I once gave a tutorial to a tourist about how to use Google maps so they could get to a BBQ joint. No better way to live baby 😎
living in the International District was like this, a lot of the time. "hey, you don't want to pay at that meter, that's for the street, the meter for this lot is over there" "the kau kau is like a block up that way, past the park" etc etc.
as I always say when discussing that period, there are really good reasons I moved away, but I definitely miss certain aspects of it
