Day 3 - 8-bit music
The fun part about being seven years younger than your cousins is that when they become surly teenagers and declare that their NES is "baby shit", they give it to you! With all their games! Because you're the baby! Anyway, that's how I wound up with Marble Madness.
Marble Madness actually kind of unsettled me as a kid. There were these green tube enemies that would stretch their mouths and pounce on your marble and eat it, and then stick their tongue out at you. There were the themes for the other levels that sounded discordant and sinister. But most importantly was the ahhhh~! sound the marble would make when it fell off the playfield. I interpreted it as the marble screaming, so I didn't play a lot of Marble Madness.
I guess I was a baby.
