the rainforest cafe thing reminded me that in dublin in the early 90s mcdonalds was still seen as slightly fancy and exotic and also that this was concurrent with the mad cow disease scare around getting brain diseases from contaminated beef. beautiful but deadly.. the femme fatale of restaurants..
