i see people complain about "99+" notifications sometimes and i really really recommend turning off the notification count. you can do it from your settings page. i've had them disabled since we added the feature and it has been nothing but positive overall. i'm gonna make it the default today for new users but existing users should do it too. trust me it's worth it.

i was wondering why that was not the default. well, that clears it up lol
Does this turn off the bubble that indicates that there even are notifications or just the number of them?

I posted a random joke about a horny rat in Dwarf Fortress and every month or so it does the rounds.
what i want is some way to hide all notifications except for comments and shares with notes. those are people saying things, likes and follows are people clicking a button to give me a notification i don't care about.
