Like, for example, do they walk everywhere? Do they fly? What kind of bike do they ride? What's their usual driving route to work? What does their wheelchair look like? Do they have a preferred type of metro rolling stock for their daily commute? What kind of teleportation spell do they use?
Like yes, cladists tend to just step from one sim to another, but part of what makes each of my OCs different is how they walk, and the language used to describe that reinforces their attitude to the world. Slow Hours trundles, Beholden prowls, Motes zips about, Dry Grass wanders, My saunters, and so on. Language choice, even in narration, helps to solidify identity.
not being in a sim, i can't simply step from location to location, and i'm, i think, somewhat more literal, so i've gotta get around the old fashioned way
honestly, my answer here isn't very unexpected or interesting - i just fly! most birds, even the ones not specialized for speed, can get around fast enough for most urban trips, and have the advantage of being able to take (mostly?) straight-line distance trips
that said, even though i have not been able to pin down exactly what bird-me is, i've always imagined myself existing in a near-future in a world that's better than the one we have, because at some point we actually just made it better
so in other situations - for example, carrying a load too heavy to fly with, just being too tired, poor weather conditions, and so on, i would simply use a robust, frequent, reliable urban transit system. there's probably a lot of light rail because i like trains
same goes for inter-city travel. trains, but bigger and faster
but i know there's gonna be cases where transit doesn't always connect because it just doesn't make sense to run rail out to like, a group of three farms every few minutes, so we can't completely eliminate individual transit, so in cases like this where flying isn't practical, i'm thinking a cute little e-scooter that looks kinda like a vespa or something. one hundred percent because i think it would be cute
