every once in a while I spot something that's cute or funny or just plain cool that I want to boost on here, but the artist labeled it as 18+. sometimes I boost it anyway after double checking, because they clearly just have it as default and didn't fix it. but when it's an entire chain of self-reboosts that are all like that, sfw-yet-18+, I get left with the feeling that they're deliberately leaving the checkmark on.

I used to ask folks who left it on if they could take it off, but found that if they don't know me, they'd usually outright ignore that request. so now I just don't bother. we've got new folks coming in from sites where you can't turn that on or off on a per-post basis, so I'm not sure how they would respond to a comment of "hey this doesn't need an 18+ marker, you can uncheck that on the post in the top-right corner of the composer, even when editing". I don't want people to be upset at me for no good reason.

this site being one of the very few that allows 18+ content but also lets you selectively post with the tag on or off depending on what you're putting out there is immensely freeing for a ton of people. this page is probably never going to post content that'd need that click-through, but I still appreciate the option being there for others! I just wish I knew how we could let folks know, who just don't know they can do it.

please please please uh. don't 18+ tag your sfw content. that just weakens the meaning of the tag for everyone

when i used to use Quora (a q&a style social media website), one thing that i kind of liked about it was that you could request edits for like typos and general English mistakes, particularly since many non‑native speakers also use the site.
first off, suggesting edits for typos etc. would be AWFUL in this site where all that is part of the site's culture... but the point remained that nobody got offended about suggested edits since it was a built‑in feature of the website with all social aspects removed etc.

if there were a drop‑down menu, and there was an option to request a post be (de)toggled 18+, then i bet many more people would be using those and also be happy to follow suit if they agree with it.
mandatory option to mute these requests, too.

same thing with suggested tags, which i think was already a requested feature??
suggesting tags in comments can often feel nerve‑wracking, especially if OP used precisely the tags that they wanted — but if it's a built‑in feature, then no hard feelings or anything??
..i can see how this can become annoying, though.

and same thing with cws (for both utility and how it could be annoying)
