Halflings/kender/hobbits. Either eating or sleeping, quick and sneaky, grab little trinkets and tuck them away, hang out in tree branches or little nooks, slash out your ankles, toe beans.
You know, I was going to say to just fucking replace elves with cat people, but this makes more sense.
