in reply to @thesanctums's post:

we dont really know were we stand on endos, but im sorry you did not just compare the difference of someone having an Trauma Disorder from Repeated Severe Trauma vs someone who does not to situations where people are systematically murdered en masse throughout history. and the global climate crisis????? no matter how you put it traumagenic systems are not coming for you and your family or wiping out the planet as you so imply, also quoting something created by a multi-billion dollar mega corporation thats willingly participating in genocide while youre talking about inclusivity is just-

and 'forced forever friends' actually makes me ill, like be so fr, so much of your post doesnt make sense and is so wildly contradictory i can't even understand what you're trying to get at but headmates are not always friends, headmates can hurt you, because guess how the human brain sometimes deals with trauma?? (hint - recreating it)

you mention how systems have different experiences yet you brushstroke systems so broadly, not everyone is coming for you, nearly noone has only positive experiences with systemhood, and boiling that down to types of stitches is obscene. the whole 'labels' thing is so so gross, being a system is not a label, labels - in this context - are not something that is forced upon someone, traumagenic systems were not born systems, and we did fucking not choose to be systems, from what i know and what you have said yourself, endos CHOOSE to be systems, why the fuck would you choose this, it's a mockery of abused children

overall, why the fuck would you say any of that, especially when trying to garner pity, im not saying endos are faking, if someone genuinely believes they are a system they either probably have hidden trauma they shouldnt be brought up, discovered their system in endo spaces and went along or something else is going on, but holy fuck is the whole concept and overall communities ive seen (while trying to avoid the whole thing, mind) is just vile, that post is vile

Hi, Sleepers,

I understand that you're feeling deeply upset right now. It may be a good time to take several steps back and to clear your head. Take note of the feelings that are in your body right now. If you find that, after stepping back, you cannot re-engage with the topic without those feelings coming back up, then I encourage you, sincerely, to disengage completely, whether that is by muting the post or by blocking all people involved, including me if you need to.

As a member of a system who predates the -genic labels and refuses to identify within that binary, I do have perspectives that I would like to share. But I do not think it would be a good idea to share them while feelings are running high.

Hi, Sanctums!

I understand the distress that you're expressing in your post, and I'm genuinely sorry that the first response that you got was hostile. Your unhappiness at the needless infighting in the community is completely valid, because it is just that - needless! I do believe that endogenic/traumagenic is a false binary and that while we have our differences, the plural community as a whole would be better off if people stopped constantly picking at each other's wounds.

In short: you are heard, and you are always welcome here on Cohost. There will still be difficulties, but I believe a kinder community is always possible.

I've read your words, and I agree completely with what you're saying. The infighting is unnecessary, and yet it happens, and it causes so much negative responses from so many people. Such as the one I notice that you've just witnessed.

I also find it gross that just because we don't have any issue with anyone's personal labels, people might almost instinctively assume our label, which I don't believe we have posted anywhere on our page. We, in fact, have no set label, because our memory issues makes us unable to put together a decent timeline of our past. We simply don't care, and I don't see why some people find such an importance in doing so.

I hope you're right, Phosphor, that with more time, our community will find a way to coexist without labels.

hey, sorry about the asshole. this post is interesting to me because i am polyfragmented, and i started engaging with some part of my system before i learned about any of the -genic terms. some amount of time later, i did learn about those terms, and assumed that despite experiencing heavy trauma, i was an endogenic system because all of the parts i knew of at the time did not have traumagenic origins. after i moved away from my parents, things proceeded to get worse and messier and more complicated since my brain i guess had time to cook without living with my abusers, and whatever parts i considered to be endogenic were unable to be contacted anymore, and now i can only really talk to sporadic, frequently created fragments, where its just harder or impossible to do internal work in general. (note: this is technically a good thing. i assume whatever perceived stability was there before i got out was probably not real or not healthy lol.) now the labels are technically useless, outside of labeling myself as polyfrag, because nobody in my brain sticks around enough to be able to do the work of figuring out whether or not they were caused by trauma.

anyways this is all one big way of saying that the whole discourse around system labels even hurt those that the instigators are trying to protect. i’m certain if i was in those spaces then i would constantly feel unsafe about my identity because, despite being a system that overall is caused by trauma, my day to day experiences deviate from the norm enough that i can’t guarantee that those people would be on mg side or anything because my day-to-day plural experiences don’t fit the mold they’re ascribing to all systems. anyways that’s really all. i have more thoughts about this but they’ve escaped me so i might get them back if you’re interested in continuing the conversation. have a nice day!

Tbh, BRUTALLY HONESTLY HONEST.

Endo’s willo’s and the like are not medical or psychological, so why are you in those spaces.

that’s it.

Plz we wanna talk about being traumatised and stuff without people looking at me like I’m a monster.

That’s it.

All we want.

I’m not even freaking anti-endo or anything I’m just sick of being treated weird.

Let us all be happy in our own spaces.
