went to my local card shop pokeymon tournament yesterday with my brand spanking new wugtrio ex deck :3 Went 2-1 (lost against zard ex because its zard ex)

its super fun!!! I once had a hand that was 15 basic water energies lmao, so the energy draw is super consistent, I just need a more consistent setup to get wugtrio out as currently the plan is 1) top deck it, 2) Salvatore into it, 3) radiant greninja into one of the previous strategy, so I might take out the 2 nest balls and replace them with ultra balls :3 (dw I have 2 buddy buddy poffins to get the wigletts out ^-^)

I also got to try out my meme kangaskhan ex deck where every card other than the energy and professors research makes you flip coins x3 (the list is 4x kangaskhan, 1x radiant jirachi, 4x "Lets Have a Blast" weezing and accompanying koffing)

pretty much all of the new stuff in TEF is setup so it cant one shot zard as well :( I built future box, and a fully buffed miraidon ex does 320 (4x iron crown ex + future booster), I'm planning an incineroar ex and it does 310 (240 attack, 20 from burn, 50 from maximum band, which doesnt soung bad til you realise it requires your opponent to pile onto their bench, which people can play around if they see litten), ancient box either does 240 (walking wake), Raging Bolt ex needs 5 energy to one shot, and 7 through heros cape (which most zards now run), roaring moon needs 26 ancient cards in the discard which is impossible without both both suboptimal decklist (running extra ancient pokemon purely to throw in discard) AND milling yourself for about 5 turns, meanwhile zard ex is fully powered turn 2 and just gets stronger D:

forgor to mention brambleghast/foretress ex, which is supereffective against zard, but assuming you get a perfect setup and have 7 energies on brambleghast turn 2, you still need 3 heads minimum, so if you get super unlucky with energy per turn/coin flips, will then immediately die to zard

naw youre good LOL i get it. zard is an annoying ass deck to fight now cause it was already really good but rotation made it better. not only just all the planning and resources needed for other decks but also just having to do the coinflip of "okay, wait, do i KO this thing and make zard STRONGER, or do i wait and potentially give zard even MORE setup". it's so hard to figure out lol

i play pao but even then its like. well i KO a zard and now it OHKOs my paos and all that other shit. and they ALWAYS have an out with pidgeot, so i have to play smart and have at least 2 baxcalibur up at any given time so they cant just boss and systematically remove them, because they can get boss and shut that down at any time. the deck's not like BROKEN but holy shit is it ridiculously good lmfao

yeah, its just so consistent at getting setup super early and snowballing. I have so many thoughts about bosses order's too lmao, they learnt absolutely nothing from guzma era
paoscalibur is one of the better decks against it though, just because it has that capability to one shot
also like, I can trade one of my ex's to kill a zard, but then the next zard starts one shotting without me being able to one shot back
I got close to beating a zard deck with future box by just ignoring miraidon ex and supercharging my baby miraidons to do 140/260 each turn, so I could try keep pace with prizes per turn but iron crown on the bench with bosses orders around is such a liability, and the fact it only does 50x2 damage for 3 energy is a crime
