Children's TV has no intrinsic value people say. But I wanna tell you a story.
I was 4 or 5 or something and I have Autism so things usually came very slowly to me. I was a huge fan of SpongeBob back in the day. There was an episode from Season 2 called "I'm With Stupid", it's incredibly ableist and hasn't aged well at all. But the plot involves Patrick and SpongeBob trying to convince Patrick's parents that Patrick isn't stupid by making SpongeBob look dumber than Pat, but it works too well and now Patrick's parents really think SpongeBob is stupid.
To try and prove he isn't actually stupid, SpongeBob goes to a chalkboard and writes "2+2=4". I swear to God, I am not making this up. That was how I learned the fundamentals of addition. Like when I was eventually taught adding and subtracting in like first grade, I was like... "wait... I KNOW this!"
