while the CEO of twitter is currently trying his best to turn the place into a hive of conspiracy theories and racist hate, I feel like we've gotta be at the point the trump bandwagon isn't gonna really convert many new members. there's no-one who lived through trump, voted for biden, who's gonna suddenly be convinced to heel-turn to QAnon by the world's most unappealing dipshit surely

Hopefully.
Though I still can't believe how many people seemed to vote for Trump even if they don't like him because he was more on the conservative side than the other candidate. I wish it was only the loonies who voted for him but it seems he's having both loonies and "regular republicans" and nothing seems to alienate those enough to risk having universal healthcare, less guns or women with access to abortion by not voting for Trump. At least that's the image american society projects across the Atlantic. I hope I'm wrong. The news has been scary since 2016.

I'm "across the pond" in the UK but from my observation the majority of americans hate trump and also don't vote for him (he lost the popular vote both times in the elections he ran in, but in america they have this stupid system where for some reason the one with the most votes isn't necessarily the winner)
in america the least popular person in the country can win an election on a fluke, so, it might as well be a crapshoot half the time

Yeah, but it's enough that he's not so unpopular as to still have a chance to realistically win. With his baggage I don't know what else he could do to lose voters, short of maybe showing signs of being "woke".
Really though I think it's better for my health to stop thinking about American elections and how that one place has the potential to fuck stuff up further for everyone else.
