if youre ever on bluesky know they're in permanent "trump is 100% going to win the election" mode and its unbearable

this manifests as them dissecting the election in a kind of "what went wrong?" "these factors lost us the election"-style way when they're describing an event that has literally not happened yet. they've just decided to resign themselves to it happening to the point they act like it already happened. started the minute 2024 started

out of sociological interest, what's the political valence of these bsky posts? are these libs lamenting that their dear biden is going to be sabotaged by an unholy coalition of scary radical leftists + MAGA chuds? or are these leftists concluding that biden has already - between israel, the economic recovery of working class folks, covid, etc - irrevocably blown it?

the main critique i'd have of the latter is that 2016 showed us just how few things are truly disqualifying in this hell-country. biden obviously represents the status quo in all its horror and the main question hanging over 2024 will be, how bad does that status quo suck in the eyes of ordinary people, and what options are they being offered? it's definitely "his election to lose" but i honestly have no idea how this year is gonna go.
