my work ethic on this game is pretty intense but it's a method I've refined over the years.
- if anything is left unfinished, it has to be cut, or tweaked into a form that makes sense and has no "untied threads" i.e if a character has a "talk" prompt and no cutscene, the character has to be cut. no "come back and fix this later". in order to keep my mind clean I like to have the fewest amount of open untied threads so that I can focus on the part of the game I'm currently working on without having to think about the rest and having the ability to outright forget the rest
