I can tell some of this game was borne of a frustration with Wholesome Games, although I can't tell how much. weirdly I'm not actually a Wholesome Games hater, I think they have their place, but I think I got big mad that it was turning into this like.... avenue that was where all the "diverse" games get dumped into and it was stunting their growth by having this stereotype that gay games, for example, would only ever be expected to have a U rating, and anything stronger was disappearing. This is also probably just a personal conspiracy theory
so then it's also kind of ironic that this game doesn't actually have any sex in it, it's just themed around it. I can tell that all of my brain cells have unanimously agreed that there is a gap in the market that needs filled and also I want to tell stories that are for grown ups, but also I run into the problem where I am iffy about drawing nudity and especially sex, not because I object to sex, but because I'm a misanthrope. that's right I just hate humanity too much to want to draw pornography for them. they haven't earned it. none of these positions make sense and that's why I have to make a game about it
