I've never played either game but immediately recognized Leisure Suit Larry. And after a bit of thinking, yeah that's definitely the Deponia guy who probably had a name I don't know...
I played Deponia this week and I don't remember his name at all. I think he might actually not have one...

There's an entire bit where a guy keeps forgetting Rufus's name, until you pretend to be someone named Sugarpuff, which he remembers perfectly.
If I'd remembered that deep cut (30 minutes into the game) and claimed that was his name, it would have gotten me huge points with the Deponia fandom.
